i was searching online for what song was sampled in a song and i found my answer on CRATE CREATOR.

it seems like a pretty rad blog (although it looks like there won’t be any new posts for a while)
from what i can tell ILL COSBY (the dude who’s blog it is) breaks down albums and talks about the songs that are sampled on them. this is how he describes the blog himself:

“Crate Creator is a blog about hip-hop samples, funk breaks, dancehall riddims, and more meant to bolster the libraries of DJs and music fans.”

I LOVE THIS!!! it’s really fun to know that AFRIKA BAMBAATAA sampled KRAFTWERK and that MADLIB used the same melody in some way (sampled or not).

an experiment

the other day i got this thought in my head:

what would happen if i did one nice thing a day for someone i don’t know?

like a favor.
or some sort of help.
as long as i didn’t know the person.
what would happen?
to them?
to me?
to my outlook on life?
to the way i feel about everyday people?
to the way those people see life & others?
what would it cause them to do?

would i feel happier?
would people be surpised?
would they be prone to take the help?
would they be skeptical?

there was a movie called “pay it forward”
i never saw it.
is that what this movie is about?
my idea doesn’t have to be original.
most of my ideas aren’t.
i just thought i would try it out.

i’m not sure what to call these things.
good deeds maybe?
i don’t know if i’ll be able to do it everyday.
mostly because some days i don’t even leave my house.

we’ll see what happens.

i did this commercial 3 days after my son was born.
it was kind of awesome being on the green with Tiger Woods.
the director, Jake Scott, really wanted me to make the putt – which was not an easy one…
but I MADE IT!!! FIRST TRY!!!
and then i successfully missed every single one after that…

i was listening to NPR’s All Songs Considered and to my surprise Bob Boilen played this song.
apparently this guy, Lil B, is 20 years old and has a goal of making 1000 songs by the time he’s 21.

this one is by far the best i’ve heard.
it kind of blew me away.
